Woman charged over alleged assault inside unit of elderly neighbour at Port Pirie – The Advertiser
A woman has been arrested after allegedly breaking into the unit of her elderly neighbour, assaulting him with a metal walking stick and smashing up many of his personal belongings.
Police were called out to a group of units in Jenkins St, Risdon Park in Port Pirie just after 4.30pm following reports of a disturbance.
When they arrived they saw a number of broken windows of one of the units, numerous items smashed, including a TV and an elderly man hiding inside his property.
He was treated for minor injuries after he was allegedly assaulted by a woman with a metal walking stick.
Police located a 51-year-old woman who lives next door and arrested her.
She was charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass, aggravated assault and property damage.
She was refused police bail and she appeared in the Port Pirie Magistrates Court where she was remanded in custody to appear in court at later date.
