Florence police charge man with breaking into township home – Burlington County Times
Florence police arrested Jayton Robinson, a 20-year-old township resident, for allegedly breaking into a township home and assaulting a residents.
FLORENCE — A township man was charged with burglary and assault after police said he broke into a township home and assaulted a girl.
Police allege Jayton Robinson, 20, broke into the basement through a rear basement door of a home on Seaman Drive shortly after 8 p.m. Monday.
The unidentified juvenile female told police she went to investigate a tapping noise in her basement with her dog when she encountered Robinson and a struggle ensued. Police said the dog went after Robinson, allowing the girl to run to a nearby off-duty police officer’s home. She told police that her home had been broken into and that she was assaulted by the person who entered.
Police said they utilized surveillance video and then a search warrant of the suspect’s residence and documents to identify Robinson as the suspect. He was transported to Burlington County Jail, pending a court date.
Robinson was charged with burglary, simple assault and criminal mischief.
