Potential threats triggered lockdowns at three different schools in Orange County on Friday morning, deputies said.

Authorities responded to Gotha Middle School and Thornbrooke Elementary School after three men were seen in the area, one of whom appeared to be carrying a firearm. Deputies found the men in a wooded area near the 9900 block of 8th street in Gotha and determined the weapons were airsoft guns.

Lockdowns at both schools were lifted soon after. No one was arrested, Orange County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Jeff Williamson said.

A third threat was reported at Windermere High School, which led to a lockdown that was lifted later on Friday, according to a Facebook post from the school.

The school said “every classroom was checked” for a potential threat.

“Every hallway and bathroom was checked to verify that there was no threat on our campus. We are resuming normal operations,” the post read.
