Driver ran over 4-year-old, later fled after learning authorities coming

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the woman who ran over a 4-year-old boy, then sped off when she learned the police were coming.

The woman allegedly hit Angel Robles around 6:10 p.m. on Oct. 16 with a vehicle as the boy was walking with his grandmother along a crosswalk in the 400 block of North Zarzamora Street. Police said Angel was hospitalized for his injuries.

Police say the driver stopped briefly, but after she learned that the police would be contacted, she fled southbound on North Zarzamora Street.

Police describe her as a woman in her 30s or 40s with light skin. She was driving a red sedan at the time of the incident, and she had two passengers in the car with her.

Crime Stoppers may pay up to $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 210-224-7867.
